When you want to do advanced workout for your legs, you may have to do exercises that will focus mainly on your legs and feet. You will better perform in sports by doing some of these exercises to strengthen your legs.

Doing Squats

This is by far one of the most effective ways to strengthen thighs and keep them in shape. It builds your thigh and calf muscles, making your overall performance in sports that much better. Position a barbell onto your shoulders with the weight being half of what you usually would carry over your shoulders. Your knees should bend so that your thighs run parallel to the ground, then lift yourself back up. Do several reps and then take a break before you repeat your reps again. You will find that you’ll be able to put more weight on as the days pass.

Hops

With this, each of your legs get a chance to be strengthened by doing a one-legged jump. Hop on one foot for 20 meters, jumping as far as you can with each stride until you reach the end. Do this again bu using the opposite leg. Between each length you do for either leg, take a short break. This exercise will greatly strengthen your thigh and calf muscles.

To Do Lunges

You should be standing with your left foot 15 inches in front of your right foot. and by keeping your back straight, dip your body down until your left foot is only about a few inches from the ground. Raise yourself to the starting position, alternating between both legs so both get the same workout. Once your done with on set of repetitions, rest a little before doing another. This is another great way to build your legs.

To perform well in sports, these few leg and foot exercises will help increase their strength. The muscles from your hips down to your toes, will feel the effects of doing these adequate exercises. Repeating these exercises daily will be a sure way to getting stronger legs for your next game or event.
